Breakfast - An Event!

Lynette Gudrais is well-known for her cooking skills in Red Wing, as her photo and byline take center stage in the daily newspaper's food column. She also teaches cooking classes, and boasts a cookbook collection numbering in the thousands of volumes.

As a guest at the Candlelight, you'll receive the full benefit of Lynette's culinary skills, by sampling a breakfast that's sure to stimulate your palette and bring new life to your tastebuds!

For example, breakfast begins with a fruit course featuring dishes such as chilled strawberry soup with creme fraiche, or a warm winter plum compote. Next, you'll enjoy a scrumptious entrœe such as Swedish pancakes with blueberry sauce, wild rice and bacon quiche and orange French toast. No breakfast would be complete without dessert, and this final treat may include raspberry trifle, lemon cups with blackberry sauce, or pats de creme au chocolate. White chocolate scones and a selection of freshly baked tarts and pastries accompany your meal. Blended fruit juices, a selection of seasonal fresh fruits, our special coffee blend and imported teas round out the fare.

You may choose to take breakfast on the porch (reserve early!) or in the Butternut Suite, and breakfast is always available in our sunlit dining room. Here you'll enjoy fine linens, fresh flowers, lovely china and crystal, and conversation with your hosts and fellow guests.

Finally, please let us know if you have special dietary needs, and we'll do our best to accommodate.
