The Candlelight Inn Bed and Breakfast is perfect for a romantic getaway in historic Red Wing Minnesota just an hour away from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Your comfort is our top priority as we make your stay pleasant and unforgettable for a Minnesota romantic weekend. Sit in the library and watch the moondance over the early morning dew. Step back in time and see the golden lantern light of the Quezal shades from the early 1900's.
If you are planning a Minnesota vacation, food is our specialty at the inn. An elegant Victorian breakfast is prepared by Innkeeper and food columnist, Lynette Gudrais featuring three course breakfasts. As always, we serve delicious appetizers, desserts and freshly made breads, rolls and pastries every day.
For those seeking a romantic getaway or just a change of scene, the Candlelight Inn is the perfect place to stay. Just 55 minutes (less than half a tank of liquid gold) from the Twin Cities, we invite you to sample the seasons with us. If you've visited before, come and check out our new look and tastes.
About Pets: Although we are animal lovers and have owned many pets in our lives before becoming innkeepers, we have discovered that many B&B visitors do not share our passion or they have allergies. Therefore, we are a pet free inn.
The Candlelight Inn was built in 1877 by Horace Rich, manager of Red Wing Stoneware Company. Over the years, the home was lovingly maintained as a private residence, and in 1989 The Candlelight Bed and Breakfast Inn was established. Current owners Lynette and Zig Gudrais continue the tradition of preserving this lovely Victorian residence much as it was 131 years ago. One
big difference is Free WiFi Internet Access throughout the house.
Original features you will immediately notice include exquisite stained-glass windows and intricately carved woodwork in the front hall, library and staircase - skillfully crafted by European immigrants from local trees. Quesal light fixtures, gleaming hardwood floors and antique period furnishings create a feeling of warmth and harmony throughout the home.
